Things I've been thinkin' on

Yes, I know the term "thinkin' on" is a bit Southern, but I've lived here a long time now, what can I say?!?!

These few quotes come from Beth Moore's study "Breaking Free". The study's been out a long time, and I believe she's even redone it since it's original production. I don't know for sure, and that's not really the point, the point is, these are some interesting ideas that I've been ponderin' as of late.

Read, take them for whatever you think they are worth, think on 'em...

"Christ sets us free by the power of His Spirit; then He maintains our freedom as we learn to live from day to day in the power of His free Spirit."

"Yet when his (King Uzziah) life was over and his body rested in the grave, all people could say was, "He had leprosy." How like our human natures - both in our tendency toward pride when we are blessed with success and in our tendency to judge someone's entire life by a brief season of failure." (See 2 Chronicles 26 for the full story of King Uzziah)

"A reminder of our own guilt should have a tremendous impact on how we treat others who are also "guilty"." (2 Chronicles 28 gives the story for the basis of this statement)

"We can hardly comprehend how our God could be so merciful and kind!"

"He (God) cannot love us any more or any less than He does this moment."

"Each of us has a crippling tendency to forget what God has done for us. For a while we're humbled. Then if we do not guard our hearts and minds, we begin to think we must have done something right for God to be so good to us."

And one of my favorites to leave you with:

"As long as the sun comes up in the morning, God will keep offering to deliver His children."
