It's been too long since I blogged! We have had too much going on and honestly until the last 2 days, I've been too sleepy!!
My kids were sick - again - and therfore hadn't been sleeping well. Luke still - at 4 goes thru these things where he won't sleep - he doesn't go to sleep at night, then if he does, he's up in the night - or up very early in the morning. This cycle seems to repet itself over and over until something (who knows what) happens and all of a sudden he seems to sleep again. I don't know, it's weird. We're in a "not sleeping" cycle now. Then of course Avery gets sick again - Luke shared his cold with her - and hers turned into an ear infection. So she wasn't sleeping much, until we got the anti-biotics into her. She has slept the last 2 nights - which is great - but woke up this morning with a big case of the runs! I knew it would happen, it's due to the antibiotics - but after talking to the doc about the meds and the diarriah they cause and the fact that we could do this - or do a lower dose antibiotics and maybe still have to do the wider spectrum stuff after the lower dose cause it might not get it all - we just went for the wider spectrum stuff. I didn't see any sense in doing 2 rounds of antibiotics! So we started the morning with yucky sheets, PJ's and a "hose off" in the tub! But she does seem to be feeling better and like I said - she's sleeping all night again - so no complaining here!!
So there's a fast update. I have more to say, but I'll have to find a different time to do that - as it seems Avery is keeping herself busy by unloading the kitchen cabinet (it used to have a child safty thing on it, but Mommy broke it off!)!
P.S sorry for any misspellings - I couldn't get my computer to copy and past this post into Word!!

Nice Weather
The last few days the weather here has been more than beautiful! It’s been in the mid 60’s and sunny and today it’s 72!!! I could so love this weather from now until about mid May!!! Then I would love to have some warm weather so we can go to the pool! Luke has been asking me, “Since it’s nice outside now, can we go to the pool?” Poor guy doesn’t understand it’s still only February! But I’m ready for it too!! BRING ON THE SUN!
Because it was so nice on Saturday we took the kids to the park. Below are a few pictures from that outing! The park was PACKED, but we had a good time. Avery was so funny! She doesn’t seem to get that she’s smaller than the “big” kids and made a beeline for the big slides and such. She wasn’t too happy when she couldn’t manage to get up to the top of the same things her brother was playing on! She’s gonna be a fighter – won’t give up until she gets what she wants!! You go girl!

New Book
I like to read. Love it actually! Unfortunately I don’t have as much free time to read as I used to, but I do still love it! I read mostly fiction, but I started a new nonfiction book today that I think will do more than entertain me!
It’s a “weight loss” book. It was recommend by a friend of ours from church (thank you Glen) – and after talking with him about it David ordered each of us one. I started mine this morning; it’s a 30 day read that walks you through some “new” ideas about losing weight. It’s written by a husband (who’s an MD) and wife (who’s an RN) team. It’s called “Thin Within” and I really like it so far.
I’ve been through several weight loss programs – Weight Watchers, Atkins, and one local program – and they all worked very well and I lost the weight – while I was ON THE PROGRAM – but like most people found it hard to stick to it, and ended up gaining back the weight I lost! With this book I think I will find a new way of looking at my body and seeking God in this area of my life.
I’m excited about this journey and am hopeful it will bring some good results the next 30 days! So as a point of reference (not too proud to share!) – today my weight is 156. I’m going to focus on putting the principles in the book to work in my life – now I’m off to “not eat until I’m hungry” – no matter what time it is!

Funny
It’s been a while since I have posted a new blog. Life got very busy around here for some reason – and I just haven’t had much time. Here is a funny conversation I had with Luke last week. Thank you to Meme and Papa Winslow for their “part” in the story!
This conversation took place after picking Luke up from preschool last Wednesday:
Mommy: “Did you play on the playground today, Pal?”
Luke: “Yes!”
Mommy: “Did you wear your hat?”
L: “No.”
M: “Why not, I reminded you that it was in your back pack.”
L: “It’s not that cold out.”
M: “Sure it is.”
L: “Babe – it’s not that cold out!!”
M: “What did you say son?”
He repeated it – and I said… “Buddy, what are you talking about?”
L: “That’s what Papa tells Meme, “Babe – it’s not that cold out!”
Hysterical!!!!
